Weekend of fun

Well my family and went to the Roanoke area last weekend to my Uncle Ray's house. We went to help him make homemade applebutter. We had a lot of fun and it was a unique experience for my kids. It allowed them to see how things "used" to be done. My uncle has three fairly large black copper lined pots that we set over fire and cook all day long.
My mom got to go with us and on the way back home Sunday we drove down Blueridge Parkway...its early yet for the leaves but it was still nice and cool and very beautiful drive.

Well basketball is gearing up now. Practices should start in the next week or so. Busy, busy again.

Tomorrow night Dale and the kids are driving with folks from church down to the Durham area to Bro Rick Finley's church to hear Dr. Jack Schapp from First Baptist in Hammond IN preach. For those who don't know....his church is where our teens go for youth conference. It should be a great time for them. I'd love to go but probably won't get off work in time...boohoo.

Hope everyone had a great weekend...I know I had a good one! It was a 1st week back at work!! I guess most of you know I had a hysterectomy 4 weeks ago. I'm healing fine from that...I'm awaiting results from some blood work his past Thursday to make sure my estrogen levels and hemoglobin is not low...otherwise I'm doing really good.

The kids went Swaders Sports Park Friday night for teen activity. They had a blast...good clean fun!!
Savannah got to spend the weekend with a friend and go to Kings Dominion Sunday...sound like they had a good time too.
Derrick and I wend soulwinning at churc Saturday. He got to go with his girlfriends dad and won a man to the Lord. I had the opportunity to go out with some of the teen girls that ride our buses to church. That was a blessing. I led a woman to the Lord and the girl that was with me was sooo excited. It was truly a blessing to see her excitement!
Then yesterday during Sunday school I had the opportunity to lead a young girl 17 to the Lord, she walked the isle after church and got baptized!!!
WHAT A BANNER WEEKEND!!! God is sooo good!

My husband and I will celebrate out 15th wedding anniversay this Thursday!! God had truly blessed me with a wonderful, loving man!!! God knew what I needed and 15 years down the road, I am truly blessed!! I don't know what I would do without him...he's my rock, my world!!!

Great weekend in West Virginia

We had a blast in Martinsburg, WV at Brother Jeff Owens church, Shenandoah Baptist Church for the ladie's conference. Great speakers and the message Brother Owens gave was just awesome!! He spoke about tasting and savoring a candy bar representing how we should appreciate all that we have been blessed with, all that God had provided us!! It was really, really good.

Also while Savannah and I were gone Derrick got to go fishing with his Dad. They had a great day of fishing and Derrick caught a 10lb catfish. Yeah for the one that "didn't" get a way!!

Well till later, remember...God is good..ALL THE TIME!!

Wow!! Can't believe that summer is gone. Where has the time flown.

So much has happened over the summer months. I tend to keep up with my Facebook more than the Blog. My husband doesn't realize keeping up on these sites takes time!! HAHA.

Savannah has turned 16, Derrick turned 13 this past Sunday. They both had great birthdays!!!

Savannah was recently in the Miss Chesterfield County Fair pageant. They are both starting basketball up again. Derrick decided not to play football this year.

Can't believe it was a year ago last Wed that my Dad went back into the hospital for the last time...and a year ago this Friday that we was transfered to Henrico Doctors where he ramained till he went to be with the Lord!! GOLLY...I MISS HIM SOOO MUCH!!!

I do however get to go to West Virginia this weekend to the Ladies Meeting...REALLY looking forward to it!! I'll try to post some pictures. If I don't...catch 'em on Facebook!!

Remember....God is good....ALL THE TIME!!!

Had an awesome day at church today. Preacher was really on; great message about doing things for others, going the 2nd mile and making sure you're doing it for the right reasons!

Afterwards Savannah went with Preacher and another teen girl to the nursing home to sing and preach. They always have a great time sharing and caring for the shut-ins, many of which never have visitors or family that live near by. It's a great blessing to those folks.

Later this afternoon Derrick and Savannah had their first swim meet of the season against Woodmont. They both swam great. Derrick swam in 4 events and Savannah was supposed to swim in 3 but at the last minute she was asked to fill in for the Seniors Relay. That's always fun to watch...the senior swimmers battle it out in the final relay races. They always have a great time!!

Well I had an eventful week. Tuesday my right side started hurting a bit. As the day progressed it go worse to the point of being unbearable. Dale came home early and took me to patient first. After several xrays and blood work found that I had kidney stones. Boy was that painful. They put me on strong pain medication and I went home to wait it out.
Today I went for a catscan at the Urologist office, he said everything was clear. Needless to say it has been a long week...painful and frustrating.
I AM SO THANKFUL FOR MY HUSBAND...he babied me all the way. Took good care of me and was there for my every whim!!!

Now I have to get my "system" back in check...the pain medication kinda slowed things up if you know what I mean!!! Any way, much better than the pain I was in.

Well baseball tomorrow, and our 1st swim meet on Sunday afternoon....SO GLAD IM BETTER!!!

Memorial Day and other fun!!!

Well a lot have happened since I last wrote. We had a great time Memorial Day with my family at Chapel Church. This is the church where my Dad and his sibblings grew up and attended their younger years.....a lot of memories there.

My Mom had a nice surprise also. One of my uncles is with the mission board to Poland. My Dad had asked him to find my Mom a toothpick holder on his next trip. Uncle Wayne honored that request and presented a beautiful Polish crystal holder to my mom during the dinner. It was a really great day!!

Memorial Day Monday, Me, Dale and the kids headed to the pool for a day of fun. Had a really nice time.

Of course with all that said and Memorial Day behind us....swim team has begun. So our weekly schedule consists now of...Monday baseball practice, Tuesday game for either Savannah or Derrick, Wendesday church, Thursday games, Friday teen activity or basketball practice for Derrick.....Monday - Friday swim practice 4-5....OK IM TIRED....is the weekend here yet!! LOL....oh wait we've got games on Saturdays too due to the wonderful rain....LOL

Well had a good day today. Just another busy day at work. Also found out Derrick has been invited to play back on the Bronco ballteam at Davis. He's excited about that.
My friend Angie turned 30 today. We had a little party for her at church tonight. It was really nice.

Looking forward to a great weekend with my family and Memorial Day celebration with all my Aunt, Uncles and cousins. We will be attending church at Chapel Church in Montpelier where my Dad and his brothers and sisters grew up. It should be a great day!

Now "Sheba" our other female is not too fond of her right now. "Zincs" our male cat has not been introduced to her yet...but I'm sure that meeting will be interesting too!!

What a sweet, sweet day. The girls sang, Julie, Mrs. Lack and Mrs. Spain all read poems about mothers and Mrs. Talley gave a great devotion on having wisdom. I really enjoyed it...oh and of course the food was great!!

Well we're home from our mini-vacation cruise to the Bahama's. Had a blast and took over 120 pictures. They all turned out so good. I'll be sure to get them posted...I've got them on my "Facebook' already if you want to view them. My mom really enjoyed herself and said she wanted to stay about 2 more weeks!! I think I could've stayed in Florida but not on the ship that long. So much to do and so little time.

My children and hubby gave me my first "Vera Bradley" purse for mother's day. Its beautiful...turquoise and brown floral print...the print is called "Gabby". Its' really nice....love it.

Busy week again with ball games and church. Mother/Daughter banquet this Saturday...should be really good. The girls are singing several songs to honor the mothers.

ALSO...please remember two things in prayer... my friend Ann Lacks in your prayers...her father passed away very suddenly and very young. He was only 47. I feel for her and know where she stands!!! She needs our prayers!
My sister's nephew Travis...diagnosed just two days ago with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma...he has a long road ahead with tests and chemo...he has a young son who needs him!! May God heal him completely!!

Past Sunday- "Pack the Pews"

What a great day we had Sunday. It was very exciting with a lot happening. Preacher had a great message and we had several hands raised for salvation. Then some friends, the Knutsons, had their newest addition Luke dedicated and Jeremy got the privilege of baptising their son John David. What an awesome memory. I couldn't believe he was the same age that Derrick got baptised. Hard to remember that Derrick was that little at one time in life...LOL.

In addition to all that there was singing and special music that just blessed your heart. We had an afternoon session after dinner on the grounds. Our guest speaker was Dr. Jack Knapp who is as preacher says "our Watch Dog" on Capital Hill making sure that all these crazy un-Godly bills don't get passed that would hurt our families and our country. It was really great to hear him speak!! Such an abundance of knowledge.

We also had a baking contest with ham and desserts that were brought for dinner on the grounds. Well I got 1st place!! I was so surprised...couldn't believe it. I had borrowed a recipe from a co-worker for my dessert and really thought that would win...had no idea it would be my ham!! My prize...$50 gift card to Wal-Mart. An of course that came in very handy buying some last minute items for a cruise this weekend.

Speaking of which....I AM READY TO GO!!! A little nervous but ready none the less. We fly out of Richmond around 7am and come back Monday around 10:30 pm. We will be sailing our of Cape Canaveral to Nassau. Then we go to CoCo Bay Island (private island of Royal Caribbean Cruise lines) back to Nassau and then back to Florida. The kids are very excited too. They have never flown before and none of us have ever been on a cruise. Of course I will have lots and lots of pictures to show.

Until my return...remember...GOD IS GOOD!!! all the time.

Here's the bike that we got for Derrick and of course Savannah is taking off with it too!! Derrick and his Dad took it to the mountains last Saturday to turkey hunt and play. I think they did more playing than hunting.

Savannah and I stayed and worked the "2nd Annual Car Show" We had a great, great day for it. The sun was out, lots of folks stopping by, great food. We couldn't have asked for a better day. I believe we had about 23 hands raised for salvation at the end of the day when Preacher spoke breifly thanking everyone for coming and gave the "Plan of Salvation". Just a banner day! A boy from our church had some fun with the face painting!! LOL...he was a hoot. Mr. Lacks our Associate Pastor with his AWESEOM ORANGE MUSTANG!! Love it.

EASTER SUNDAY!

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday with family and at church. What a great, great time. This kids of course got some goodies at home. My mom felt well enough to go to church with us. She had purchased a Hydrangea Bush, which was one of my Dad's favorite plants. She gave it in memory of my Dad and the bush was planted on the grounds at our church in front of the flag poles. Its beautiful.

The church survice was over the top, we had folks get baptized and saved. God is just really blessing. Afterwards we went to my mother and father-in-laws for a great family dinner. Just a blessed day over all!!

We're into our Spring program at church "6 weeks to Victory". Its a really exciting time with so much happening.

The next Sunday was missions Sunday. We let balloons go with gospel tracts. I didn't get any photos but it was a great sight to see all those colors floating in the air. Praying some one will get blessed and saved through that!!

This past Sunday was "Love my Church" Sunday. We all received photo's of our Preach and his wife and the Assoc. Pastor and his wife. Very nice. We had so many visitors!! There were family visiting for one of our members getting baptisted and a couple from the Car Show we had Saturday. Then a couple Ida and Eugene visiting from invitation from me and my husband. We then after purchasing a "mini" motorcycle for my son. We had about 8 saved Sunday and probably 31 visitors many of which say they will be back. What a great blessing!! I'll post more later....remember GOD IS GOOD....all the time.

Well we've gone from basketball ball to baseball and softball. Derrick is playing for Spirit Athletics. He's catching and playing short stop or pitching when needed. They have a great group of guys. He was blessed with God given talent and has been chosen to also play with the Varsity Boys!! He was really excited when he was told that.
Savannah is back at Crenshaw playing for the 18U team. She's pitching and playing 2nd base or short-stop. Guess that runs in the family!! LOL. Her team is doing really well too. I'll post photos as I get them.

Basketball Tournie

We all had a great time. Savannah's team the Spirit Varsity Girls took 2nd place in their division. It was truly a blessing to be able to go and be around a great group of Christian families!!

Afterwards my family went to my in-laws cabin for a day just to breathe in some mountain air then soon had to be back home.

YEP ITS ONLY WEDNESDAY but I'll be heading out of town tomorrow to Lynchburg, Liberty University for the Homeschool Basketball Tournament!! Very excited. Dale and the kids went up tonight as they have a game tomorrow at 11:00. I have to work but I'll be heading up tomorrow afterwards. CAN'T WAIT. It will be a nice little mini-vacation for us. Good time, good friends and good Basketball!! I'll try to get some pics posted later when we return.

Well as basketball is ending softball and baseball are starting up. Savannah has a batting cage practice Sat. Thus starts another sport of running to practices and games but I'm glad their active.

The school through church Freedom Christian Academy had a Chick-Fil-La fundraiser that evening form 5-8 in which a percentage of ticket sales went back to the school. They're trying to raise money for their Senior trip to Tenn. I hope they get enough and have a great time.

Later Saturday night I attended a get together among my highschool class mates, Monacan Class of 90. We had a really great time. They are planning several girl's nights out and different things to get us back together. Guess with our 20 year reunion coming on 2010 they all want us to stay in touch and have a good turn out. It was great seeing old friends again. While my husband and I were our Savy and Derrick got to go skating and brought a friend from church, Talley along. They had a lot of fun.

Had a nice memorial service last night at the Ruritan for my dad. GOSH I SO MISS HIM!!! It went really well. I can honestly say it was much harder reading a open I wrote about our relationship last night than it was the day of his Memorial service in Nov. I guess time has passed and I was probably still "numb" to everything then. They gave my mother a really nice plague and retired his name "False Alarm"...give because of his line of work at the time, security guard.

The weather has been wonderful, getting chilly again though. I'm kind of looking forward to spring. Had my snow and ready to move on.

Savannah and Derrick are doing really good with their school work. Savannah is now doing online courses also with Western Christian Academy and doing very, very well with it. I am very pleased with their curriculum.

Church is great. We've had several baptisms and folks joining in the last few weeks. Preacher has been shelling the corn!! He and several men leave for Indiana this Sunday for "Pastor's School". Praying for their safety and to have a great time!!

So as you can see life is very busy...doesn't end. In all this God is Good...all the time. Till we chat again....after the tournament!

Can't believe just a few days ago the temperatures were in the upper 60's. Last night it began to snow and didn't stop till mid-day today. We got atleast 8 inches at our house according to the yard stick on the deck.
We haven't had a good snow like this in a long time...atleast 93' I believe. The kids have enjoyed playing in the snow today. I've enjoyed having the day with them with snowball fights, building a snow man, sledding down the driveway...didn't go very far but we tried anyhow. Unfortunately "Daddy" Dale had to work today but we're planning on heading out again this evening after our clothes dry out.
Dale loves "Snow Cream" so he's headed to the store for milk since its all gone and I'll make a bowl when he gets back. If you've never had it...you should try it. Delicious especially when you add different flavors like butter rum or vanilla. YUMMY!!!
Well gotta run. I'm gonna post some snow playing pictures.

A GOOD DAY!

Well I had a good birthday. Started with cry in the shower then once I got over all that I went to work. My co-workers gave me some really nice smelling candles and Wawa gift card! Love the coffee!! My boss took us out to O'Charlies for lunch. It was good. My co-worker also made an awesome cake for me...its called "Better than sex cake"....and well its not LOL but it is a heavenly good cake. The best I've tasted!!
Oh and earlier this morning my husband had a bouquet of chocolate covered strawberries form Eddible Arrangements delivered to me!! YUM, YUM, YUM. They were soo, soo good.
Got lots of emails form friends and family wishing me Happy B-day and friends sang to me at church tonight. It was overall a really good day!!

YES...Today is my birthday....and its a little bitter sweet. My hubby took me and the children out to dinner last night. We met up at Applebee's.

Savy had a 1st Round Conf Tournament...they won big like 58-24...can't remember exact score. Savy got to play in the 2nd an 4th quarter..she has two assists. Really great game form what I heard. I on the other hand was at work till 7 and didn't get to go so I met them at the restaurant. Before they go there I was just thinking over things and it hit me....like the wind...my Dad won't be here to celebrate with us.

I know he's looking down...I love him so much!!

I was very greatful that last year by boss surprised me on this day with my Mom, Dad, Dale and the kids joining us during our lunch time. It was supposed to be a lunch meeting and us girls had brought in food then in walks everyone...it was a great surprise!! Who would've known. But God knew!! He always does!!

I love my husband so much too...he's been so, so supportive of me! I'm very proud of my children for their loyalty, love and support as well. I couldn't ask for better!!!

OK SO YES...TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY....I'M 37. AND YES FOR YOU SMARTIE PANTS...ONLY 37. LOL I also wish my dear friend Bobbie in PA Happy Birthday...her's is today too. Well gotta run. Have a great day...Remember....GOD IS GOOD..all the time!

Hello...well should I say good evening!! Just came back form an awesome Ladie's Meeting at my church! It was such good fun. We ate an awesome meal of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoe casserole, corn, apple sauce, strawberry cheesecake, choclate pie, banana pudding(which I did not sample!!! That one is a no..no) and melt in your mouth chocolate chip cookies!!! Then we chatted, heard a great little devotion. Afterwards we made a blanket for a young mother in our church Lori Willis who is dealing with breast cancer. We thought it would bring her comfort and let her know we love her!! She is a young mother of two children...please pray for her, she doesn't have any family close as her parents live in Tennessee. They come when they can. It was just a wonderful time.

Savy's team won their basketball game tonight over Yeshiva...YEAH!! GO... SPIRIT!!! They have a Conference Tournament Tues, Thur and Friday night...pray they will do well. They're against some really tough teams.

My mom is doing good as well. She got to visit with her cousin today and will be over the next few weeks. Nice to visit but not for the reason they are in town. Helen Ann's husband Ralph is have to take special treatments for skin cancer. He takes two a day for the next 3 or 4 weeks. He takes one in the morning...comes to rest at my mom's then goes back in the afternoon for another. Its really tough on them all....especially that they live in Kenbridge. They're driving here every day....I hoping they will just stay with my mom a couple days at a time so its not so much driving.

WOW....there are burdens on every shoulder you meet...it just never ends. The battle rages on but the Lord is our sword and shield! I know he will see us through!

Glad its Friday!!! End of the week. Guess I'm gonna need to head back to the doctor about my knee. The pain has been horrible and Tylenol isn't cutting it much...Pray for me!!

Savy has a game tonight!! YEAH...that's always exciting. Looks like we had a great turn out so far on their fundraise this past Monday...thank to anyone who helped her out with pledges!

Just a little update on my mom, she is doing great. Been to the lake last weekend with my sister Alice. Had a nice relaxing time. She's seems to be keeping up with things good, medications, the house etc.

I'm SOOO, SOOO excited as we're planning for an upcoming cruise for my mom. We're taking Royal Carribean, Majesty of the Seas in May for 4 nights. Can't wait!!! Never been on a big ship before and neither has my husband...well actully my sister Alice and her husband are the only ones going that have so it should be a lot of fun for all of us!!

Savannah's team had an awesome night tonight!! The Varsity girls won 38 to 37...very close exciting game. They pulled it out int he end.
The Varsity boys hammered the other team 70-36. A victorious night. God was on our side!!

Pray for my sister's and I as we try to make preparations for taking my mom on a much deserved trip...Cruise to be exact!! I've never been on on either so I'm very excited.

Pray for my friend Angie and her family traveling from Tenn. They're on a little mini vacation taking some time for themselves. HOPE THEY HAVE A GREAT TIME!! I'll miss her teaching Wed. night class. Pray for her health to get good and doctors to find out why she's contantly in pain and not feeling well.

I'm so excited for Savannah. She won 2nd place in the Free Throw contest with Spirit tonight. She did such a good job. Another boy from our church Tommy won 1st place for the 3pt contest. They both did and awesome job! A special thanks to everyone who supported all the kids and gave contributions for the fundraiser.

Today went real well at my work...thanks to those praying for me. It was a much smoother day today.

Well I'm off to bed. Tomorrow brings a new day...till then...God is GOOD!!

Hello friends, hope you have a great Monday and your week gets off to a good start. Had a great sermon yesterday at church. Preacher has been speaking on living in VICTORY! They have been really good.

Savannah has her fundraiser with Spirit Basketball tonight. Pray all the kids do well so they will be able to raise the necessary money for the tournament at Liberty next month. She will be doing Free Throw shots, she has two-1 minute trys. She's a little nervous but I think she'll be fine.

NEW CAR!

I almost forgot, I was blessed with new car. 1994 Eagle Talon, been garage kept and only 90K miles on it. My mom's neighbor gave us a great deal we just couldn't pass up. We needed to turn over the Jeep to Savy and get something else for me and this was it. Dale got it all waxed and shiney for me, put new wheel covers on it. It drives like a dream!! LOVE IT!! GOD IT SOOO GOOD!!

Valentines Fun

We had a super great night at church with the adult banquet tonight. The food was awesome, teriaki chicken, rice, greenbeans, fruit kabobs, different desserts...DELISH. We played cool games headed up by my friend Pam. She always does and excellent job. I won a couple things...got to limbo. Preacher did well with that too!! LOL Good clean fun.

Derrick is slowly recovering from play airsoft with a bunch of the boys last night at church. I think its great that they have a decent place to go and play like that!! Stay out of trouble and harms way and have a great time running around playing.

Savannah is looking forward to her fundraiser night with basketball tomorrow. They're trying to raise money for an upcoming tournament. She will participate in the free throw contest. It should be a lot of fun.

Well off to bed, church in the morning and I believe Savy will go with Preacher to the nursing home again. She seems to really enjoy that.

The teens had an awesome Valentine's banquet. Miss Pam May coordinated all the games. They all had a blast. It was a Laua theme...tropical scenes with trees and such. Really nice.
A friend of Savannah's, Jeffery Ozmar asked her to go with him tonight. It was really cool. He called Dale this morning to ask his permission to ask her to go...very good manners!! They met up at the church.

The adults have their dinner tomorrow night...well I guess with it being 12:26AM it would be tonight!! LOL.

I'm also really excited at some things coming up ahead. My sister Alice is planning a cruise for myself, my sister Alane and my Mom to go a fews days to the Bahama's. I've never been on a cruise...I think of all of us Alice is the only who has gone so this is a really great treat. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. Its just a girls thing but I'm gonna really miss my husband when we do go even though its only gonna be for 3 or 4 days!!!

I know its been a while!! Just been busy!! Savannah got her braces on this week. She was soo soo excited. She couldn't decide on a color so she got one band of every color...silly girl.
This coming Monday she will be eligible to get her learner's permit!! CRAZY!! Can't believe she'll be 16 this Aug.

She finally found a dress for her teen Valentine banquet...she's excited about that too. DOING AWESOME in basketball. She's really loving it...she gets to play JV and Varsity...which keeps us busy running all over town to games.

I found out today after going to the orthopaedic dr that I have arthritis in both knees. Sounds crazy being that I'm only 36 but that's what he said.

Showed me how thin the cartilidge is between my bones..very thin...no wonder they hurt when I bend them!!

Here's pictures of the condo that Derrick was hunting from and pic of his deer. I got the low down of the story when he got home. It had begun to snow and was very windy. Dale spotted the 3-4 deer coming cross the ravine. Derrick was shaking from the cold as he opened the window....he rested his gun cross the ledge and one shot and she was down. He was so pumped and excited!!

WOW...Can't beleive a whole year has gone by. So much has been going in these last few months. Sorry I haven't updated the blog but its really the furthest thing from my mind.
We had a really good Thanksgiving. Since my in-laws had the house fire there was not room in their apt at the time for turkey so I drove her and my daughter to their cabin for the day and cooked the whole meal for them. Dale and D.D. were already there because they were hunting. We all had a really nice time and drove back that evening.
My Mom spend the day with my sister Alice so she wouldn't be in the house with memories. It was good being surrounded by family!! The following few days she spent with me while my husband and son were out of town. It was nice having her here just doing nothing stuff, messing around the house but basiclly chilling out!!
Well....then came Christmas...such a busy time. Mom spend Christmas Eve with us at our house. The kids got everything they wanted and more!!! I GOT A LAPTOP...now with that you'd think I'll be able to post every day!! LOL. My mom went back to her house later that day as my sister Alane was coming in town with her family. The 26th my whole family had our gathering and them my mom headed off to Maryland to spend a few weeks with Alane's family. She's really enjoying a change in scenery!!!
Church has been going really good. Alot has been happening, new familys, baptisms, GREAT sermons!!
We're having a Watchnight New Year's Eve service tonight. Gonna have some good clean fun! Can't wait!.
DERRICK JUST CALLED....HE SHOT HIS FIRST DEER....he got a doe!! GOD IS SO GOOD...I've been praying for him. His Daddy shot at one but they're still looking for the trail.
VERY EXCITING FOR HIM!!! Papa was looking down on him I'm sure.

Just never know what life is gonna throw your way. Today my mother and father-in-law's home caught fire and 1/2 their home was destroyed. 40 years of hard work and memories up in smoke. Not sure what God is doing in all this but I know he's in control. I know he will see them through this!!
I JUST THANK GOD THEY WERE NOT HURT!!!!!
Please pray for them as they will certainly need strength and grace during this time. The holidays are upon us and this is be a tough.
I heard a local radio station playing Christmas music today and I just wasn't mentally prepared for that; I got really upset just thinking about not having my Dad here. I'm sure there will be many more times like this!!!
Also pray for my friend Pam after having surgery today. She will have several weeks of healing.

Savannah had her first basketball game Monday night. Her coach asked her to play up with Varsity. She was soooo excited and nervous. The girls won their game 53 to 14. Savannah got some good play time each quarter. She made one of the last baskets in the game. We are so proud of how well she played!!!

YEAH SNOW!!! Got to see a litte bit of it off and on yesterday!!! It was so pretty coming down.

Well I keep saying I'm going to have pics to show of everything but just finding time to download...UUGGH! I'll get em soon.

A WEEKEND OF FUN!!!

Derrick's team lost in the 3rd round of the playoffs today. He played his best but I told him "You can't carry the whole team, everybody has to do their part!" He received another blessing with his team today by being selected MVP of the game. My husband said that coaches from the other team were coming to shake his hand and commented on how well he played. What an honor to have such good things said about your children!!

I can't say enough about the wonderful ladies meeting we had at church this weekend...Classic Lady was the theme.

We had two guest speakers, Mrs. Finley and Mrs. Cathy Berry. What a great, great blessing to here them both. I had never heard Mrs. Berry speak. She was just so, so funny. Reminded me a lot of listening to Mrs. Marlene Evans. Same great spirit and just so funny.

Our Preacher's wife Mrs. Rhonda Talley got a great surprise for her birthday by having her daught Tammy and grandson Tanyon flown in from Idaho on behalf a some of the ladies at the church. She was so, so excited and just cried and laughed and cried some more!!

It was really a fun, fun time.

The decorations were absolutely beautiful once again courtesy of Ms. Tammi Schnarrs...she is just so, so talented.

I went a way with several personal decisions and things I need to change. Overall I beleive everyone got a blessing from the music to the speakers to the food!!!

Tomorrow is Old Fashioned Day at church. Gonna be a lot of fun there too with great "Old Fashioned" preaching, music and dinner on the grounds. Then off to my inlaws house for my neice's 13th birthday.

Well off to bed now. I'll hopefully have some pictures to load from church tomorrow as well as some really good pictures from the children singing at church last Sunday night!!

WAY TO GO VIKINGS!!! Great game tonight and the team gave God the glory!!! I am so proud of my son's coaches. They pray before and after every game. What a great testimony. They won the 2nd round play-offs against Powhatan Cheifs 13-12. It was a very, very close game. Derrick made several great plays stopping the runner. It was a complete team effort.
Also one of the players got injured during a play. The team on the field was in a huddle. One of Derrick's team mates spoke up and said "Hey Derrick why don't you pray for Terrance" And so he did....Terrance walked off the field and was able to come back in the game!!! God is good! I told Derrick that is a good testimony to carry that his team mate know he's a Christian and prayer warrior!

My Uncle sent a great picture from the Memorial Service of my Dad's brothers and sisters shown above. Turned out really good.

Can't believe its been a week since I lost my Daddy. I have the task of going to the Crematory tomorrow to pick up my Daddy's remains. WOW...just cannot believe he's gone. Then I got some more bad news today...please pray for a good friend of my Daddy's and church member; Elliot Keener...he lost his mother this morning. She had been fighting illness for a long time too. They are having to bring her home from Tenessee, please pray for that family.

I have such the hardest time walking in church...can't hardly walk in without crying. I just miss my Daddy so, so much!!!

Pray for Derrick's playoff game tomorrow also...THANKS!!

Good morning. I have to go back to work today. My kids back to their school work. I feel like I'm in a daze, just kind of going through the motions but I'm told this is normal and that this to will pass.

Derrick has his second round play-off game this weekend. His coach dedicated all the game to my Dad on Derrick's behalf. Thought that was really cool for Derrick's sake.

Not to be lost in all the excitement but Savannah took some really nice pictures from train ride in the mountains with the Teen youth from church. I'll post those later as well.

I want to thank everyone that joined us today at the Memorial Services, everyone that brought food, sent a card, shook a hand, gave a hug, branded a smile, typed a bulletin, gave kind words...what ever part was played in making this day memorable and sweet...I THANK YOU!!!
God's grace is sufficient and I pray in the days to come it will continue not only with me but for my Mom, Frances.

I had not idea went I woke this morning...all excited about the Fall Festival that I would end my night the way I did.

My Daddy....YEP..my Daddy, daddeo went to be with Jesus and my Nanny and Papa and his Paw Paw in Glory about 8:40 Friday night.

WOW..it just happened so fast. He knew he was ready and had the nurse call me about 3:00 Fri. afternoon. I couldn't get there till about 5:30 because I had to make arrangements at the church and get the game room covered (I HAD SOME GREAT AND WONDERFUL LADIES HELPING ME!!!) He told me he was ready to go and I asked was he sure about going to heaven and he said he was...He knew for sure. I told him ok then I'm ok to let him go.

They turned the vent off around 8:30 and ten minutes later he was with the Lord.

Please pray for my mom during this time....her health isn't great and she's very nervous. Thanks for the prayers.

Well its Friday!!! YEAH! Happy Halloween to all. Can't wait for the Fall Festival tonight at my church. A friend of mine helped me decorate last night. I'll add pics for that tonight. All the kids have so much fun with the games and the "spooky" trail.
I was talking last night and realized I've been heading up the game room for the younger children for almost 9 years now...WOW time flys.

Derrick has 1st play-off game tomorrow night....gonna be cold out there! He's pumped and ready.

Please also continue to pray for my mom and my dad. My mom is home..YEAH!!! God is Good! She's feeling better, getting physical therapy. My sister Alice has been staying with her till she gets to moving around good.

My dad had a few set backs last week with the dialysis port being clogged so he's been getting treatments every day this week and has been very, very weak. He just seemed so tired last night when I saw him. He really needs GOD's healing hand!!
Got to see my friends Candy and Mark's new baby Abigail...she's beautiful. So, so preacious. I forgot to take a picture. Candy needs your prayers for healing after the deliver but they are both doing well and the baby is feeding, crying and cooing very well!! LOL

OH forgot to mention....My secret sister at church....WOW she is so good to me. If you happen to be reading this..THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Such a great encouragement. I have gotten a card in the mail every week either at home or work and sometimes both places. Such encouraging words, heart felt and kind.

My family and I had one last hoorah at Busch Gardens this year. This was the 10 year anniversary of their "Jack is Back" scare fest. We had a really good time. Derrick does not ....I repeat DOES NOT like all that scary stuff but he was a trooper and went along....dragging behind!!! LOL.

Also can't wait till Friday night at church we have our annual Fall Festival. Good clean fun for the kids. I usually run the game room for the younger children while the older ones take to the woods for a good scaring!! Good food, good fun so come join us if you can!!

Hello again. A lot has happened since I last posted. My mom came home from Lucy Corr on Thursday. She was having some trouble breathing but she came home figuring she would feel better with some medication. As of Saturday she had been doing breathing treatments about every 4-6 hours and was not getting better so my sister Alane took her to ER at Chippenham. They found she had fluid on her lungs and kept her. After a visit Sunday she looked a lot better and fluid was off so it seems to may be coming home today (Monday) if everything remains good. They contributed some of this to a medication that she takes.

Saturday Derrick had his last regular season football game.....They beat the Salem Cowboys 12-0 so now they're heading to the playoffs.

We also found out Saturday that my husband Dale's father fell. He has a disorder that affects his motor skills so at times his speech is impaired and unstable on his feet. He took 9 stitches but no serious head injury...no concussion etc. He was sent home but man he looks really, really bad!!!

Please keep Marvin Avery (Dale's dad) and my mom (Frances Murphy) and of course my dad who's still in ICU at Henrico Drs. in your prayers!!!

ALSO...I'll have someone else to visit at Henrico Drs as a friend from church Candy is having her baby this week...SO EXCITED FOR HER....Pray for a safe delivery!!!

SUNDAY at church was a good time. Great sermon by Preacher as usual. It was Pepsi Sunday. Everyone got a can of Pepsi and a Reese's Cup...YUMMY!! The children in Junior church got to spray down Bro. BillyMay with all kinds of Pepsi. They had lots of fun with that!!

Hello to all....I'm much better after my scare Wed afternoon!! I forgot to tell you that Wednesday Savannah had an orthodontist appointment for the first stage of getting braces on. She had to have 4 spacers places between some of her back molars. Tuesday of this week she will go back to have those removed and start the next step towards getting a palette expander. Her upper arch is too narrow and she has crowding so that have to expand her teeth. She's excited about all of this and has anticipated it for a while.
Her Dad and I are not has bubbling over with joy because of course we have to foot the bill but its what she needs.
My Dad is doing better but still havng some ups and downs. They gave him a blood transfusion Friday and that really pepped him up. His color looked really good and seemed much more alert. My Mom is doing great. They feel she may be able to come home next week.
My sister Alane came down Friday from Maryland to visit for the weekend. I have been so busy I haven't actually gotten to see her but I will tomorrow when we go visit with my Dad again.
I was really busy today helping do my Dad's part with the selling of brunswick stew. The Ruritan Club that he's part of makes some every spring and fall and this was the weekend....if you've never tasted .....man oh man...you don't know what you're missin'...ITS GREAT!!!

Derrick's football team won the division conference. The team is still undefeated and will head to the playoffs in the next week or so. They are about 5 games away from the Super Bowl. He's very, very excited. He's really played well this season.

Well I'll have some pictures to post after tomorrow....Its Western Round-Up Sunday at church. That's always a fun time and the teens are selling hotdogs to raise money for the train trip next weekend. That's gonna be a fun time too. Well gotta head of to bed....long day tomorrow.

Craziness around every corner!!

Well the last few days have been eventful. First I found out this past Monday that my dad has been on a medication called Saroquel (?spelling). Its for anit-anxiety and to help him sleep. He was being given this medicaton 3x a day. I got him taken off of that.

Thanks to the help of a good friend I was able to get my Mom to the doctor Tuesday after she remembered she had an appointment at the last minute. She's doing so much better and they're talking about sending her home. She can't wait. We have to get with the PT and OT and get her released.

Yesterday after having an early "Boss's Day" luncheon I was cleaning up and started to cough then my chest got really tight. Shortly I became very winded and had trouble breathing. My husband had just picked my kids up from me, they had been at work with me all day. I called him back and he immediately took me to the ER. After chest xray and EKG they still weren't sure what was going on. I received a breathing treatment and got sent home with two prescriptions. The tx knocked me out (not sure what's in that stuff) but I was out and slept all night. This morning I was fine like nothing had ever happened.

We think I had an allergic reaction of some kind but all I know it was very, very scary not to be able to breathe.....Can't imagine what my dad must be feeling...GUESS I GO A SMALL TASTE OF IT!!!

Well Derrick gets to go to his first Homecoming dance tomorrow night with his football team. Still undecided if he's going but I'm sure he'll have fun it he does.

Hello all. Saturday about 2:30. I got a call that my Dad had to be put back on the ventilator. He didn't look good last night when I saw him. I picked my mom up from Lucy Corr nursing home and took her to see him. They had not seen each other in little over a week.
He slept almost the whole time we were there. His carbon dioxide levels are extremely high. A healthy person's levels are around 40%, my dad's normal level is in the 70%...last night is was hovering around 81% and today it was much higher. His body has come accustomed to the the high levels but not that high. Its basically like carbon monoxide poisoning...very similar result thus he's very sleepy and disoriented.
PLEASE PRAY THE LEVELS WILL COME DOWN!!!

Derrick had a game today...I will update on that later. Take care and until we speak again...Remember....GOD IS GOOD...All the time!

I'm so glad its Friday. What a week. Had its ups and downs. The upside to it is hat my Dad, Marshall Murphy is doing so much better. I went to visit with him last night. He has shown so much improvement. He will possibly move to a regular room today or by the weekend. He has been breathing on his own without the ventilator now for over 24 hours. The doctors were contemplating removing the trachea but that's still up in the air. GOD IS SO GOOD! I told him I had been fasting and praying for him all week long. God really showed himself to me this week!! What a mighty God we serve!!

My Mom, Frances is doing really well also. She has been walking with her walker and getting around really good. I'm going to take her to visit with my Dad this afternoon if she's feeling up to it. I know he'll be glad to see her.

Derrick has a football game at Midlothian High school tomorrow morning. I thank the Lord for keeping him safe. So many of our players have been injured this year...I believe we have about 5 or 6 kids out with broken arms or a leg between the Junior and Senior team. His team is still undefeated so far which mean they will be in the playoffs. He's really excited!

Savannah will start her basketball games Nov. 13..she's looking forward to it. She really misses teen activity at our church but the decision was made to play basketball. I told her life if full of choices.

Looking forward to a nice weekend, hopefully its cool, like to decorate for fall in my yard Sat. Also Dale's father is in a play at his church...that should be pretty exciting to see. I've never seen him do anything like this. Can't wait!!

Got some exciting news today from my dad. He acually called me today. He got a new trachea collor on today that allows him to talk. This means that he is doing so much better. His breathing has greatly improved. THANKS FOR ALL THE PRAYERS!!

OK......Fall is here...YEAH!! My favorite time of year.

Dale and I just had our 14th wedding anniversary. He is such a wonderful loving husband. He bought me an very nice camcorder that also allows for still photos while taping. Its really nice. We spent the night in Yorktown, had an very nice dinner, walked on the beach, browsed through stores and hung out in our room....ALOT!! The next morning we went shopping at some outlet stores in Williamsburg. It was only for a night but it was a nice break in the action of running from hopsitals to ballfields. Nice getaway. I'll post some pics later from out trip.

Both Savannah and Derrick are homeschooling with some good friends of ours the DeLorge family. They are both doing great so far....good grades and making progress in getting caught up. They really love it!

Derrick is playing football again for Davis Vikings. So far his team is undefeated in the regular season games. He is playing tackle on defense and center or guard on offense. He is doing a great job. He is really enjoying it this year and gets to play with one of his best friends Chris. I'll upload some pictures after the next game.

Savannah....Savy as she likes to be called now is starting with SPIRIT Basketball through the homeschool network. They don't have their frist game till Nov. but she's really having a great time with the team practicing and getting to know new friends. I'll bring more news of her games...love to see folks come out and support her.

Dale is so busy at work. He loves his job with the county. I'm at the dental office in Brandermill. Its been a little crazy and frustrating but I'm working through it.

CHURCH is great....awesome sermons. The waters are being stirred and people are getting saved. We've had some answers to prayer and seen some true miracles in the last few weeks. GOD IS SO GOOD! The teens will be going on a train ride through the mountains of West Virginia around Oct 25th. I'm sure she'll have a great pics for me to post. Preacher has several out of town engagements. He's truly blessed and being greatly used of God.

I'm heading off to bed now. 5 am comes mightly early!! I'll try my best to keep things up to date better!! Time flys and everything happens so fast....but I'm having fun in the process.

Ok, Derrick also got to go offshore fishing on a boat with his dad for the first time as part of his birthday present. They both had a blast. Derrick caught 6 different species of fish. He is to receive a special certificate from the Junior Anglers Awards Program for this accomplishment. He was really excited when the captain of the ship told him all about this.

OK...........Now for the not go good part of the update. Most of you already know about Aug 29th my mom fell and broke her ankle. Its been 4 weeks now and she has gotten the cast off. She is doing so good....GOD IS SO GOOD because we were told it could be 6 to 8 weeks of healing but God did it in 4. She is currently receiving rehab and physical therapy at Lucy Corr nursing home and we feel will be in as little as 2 week.

Just after Mom's fall my dad went back into the hospital. He's been in Henrico Drs now since Sept 13th. He's making excellent progress but we take it one day at a time. I run back and forth between the hospital and the rehab facility....work and church.

Well we get Savy out the way and a month later Derrick has his 12th Birthday. We celebrated at home with friends. He has fun. His birthday was Sept. 6th. It always falls around labor day. We also went to Yorktown for Labor Day with some friends and hung out for some fun in the sand and sun. We all had a great time.

Hello Family and Friends. Sorry its been such a long time since I've posted but so, so much has happened. I'll try to break this up into several posts to bring everyone up to speed on all the excitement, adventures and ups and downs life has brought out way!

Since Dale's birthday a lot has happened with my family. So I'll start with Savannah turning 15 on August 9th. I surprised her the week before with a birthday party at church during her teen activity. The week of her birthday we were in the midst of Vacation bible school at church so I planned a partyt he week before. My sister Alane was in from Maryland. She and I decorated the Thursday night before the party. Savannah thought that I was at church decorating my classroom for Vacation Bible school. All of the teens were invited as well as some of our family were there. She was truly surprised.

As we approached the building she saw some decorations up, she made the comment, "Oh wow, wonder what all that is....looks like a party." I responded by stating that I knew Ryan Bolton (a fellow teen) was having something tonight" When we walked in the door, I took my camera and prepared to take a picture...she just smiled and said "Oh my GOSH!!..You've got to be kidding me...this is for me?" She had no idea.
Savannah loves monkeys so we had a jungle theme and monkey decorations. The kids really go involved in the games and looked like everyone had a really great time!!

Wow so much has happened in the last few weeks. We went on a mini-vacation. Took some great pictures. Came home last Saturday 5th only to find out my Dad was really sick. He spent a week in the hospital; brought him home last Friday.

Monday 7th was my father-in-law's 70th birthday and this past Sunday, July 13th was Dale's 50th birthday.

Today Savannah left for youth conference in Hammond, Indiana. Please pray for all of their safety!!! I know she'll have a great time as she always does.

New Addition at our Church!!

So excited for friends of mine Amy and David DeLorge. They welcomed a son into the world, Aydein Joseph, Tuesday July 1st. We are all so very happy for them. They bring him home tomorrow, Amy is doing really good, hopefully all their other children will make an easy adjustment to their new brother!!

We are also excited to head out early Thurs...that would actually be today..hee hee..for a little mini vacation. I'll take lots a pictures!!

Our Preacher is healing well from breaking his jaw a few weeks ago...please continue to keep him in your prayers!

Savannah got to help celebrate her friend Breanna's 16th birthday Monday night. It was a really sweet time. Now Savy is counting down the days till she gets her Learners Permit....OMG!!!! Actually she's a good driver but still OMG...can't believe she'll be 15 in a matter of weeks, Aug 9th.

Its a Monday!!

Well yesterday was busy. Roger and I ran out route in the van. Great sermon by Preacher!!! "Who are thou?" Thought provoking sermon.
On the way home I got a call from my, he was having trouble breathing. Ended up going to the ER with him.
He's alright now. Found out that he just needed to turn up his oxygen when he's doing extra work or anything that exerts him like working in the garden or mowing the lawn.
THANKS FOR THE PRAYERS!!

Now I'm looking forward to vacation next week!!! Can't wait to spend time with my family without all the hustle and bustle. Hope to have some relaxing time.

Crenshaw 1st Place

I'm so excited for my daughter...God gave her team the Victory tonight and they won their game taking 1st place in their division in the playoffs. They all got an awesome trophy. She was excited to see her youth director Mr. Lack at her game. Of course that made her nervous but she played awesome along with the rest of her teammates.

The other cool thing about it is that Crenshaw also took 1st place on the 10U, 12u teams as well...all levels except 18U...that's pretty neat.

So that's the end of softball and baseball for us....on to football camps and training which will take us into the fall.

I'm looking forward to the little hiatis I'll get in between sports. And looking forward to vacation next week. Hopefully get to Busch Gardens, Water Country and Yorktown for the fireworks. I'll be taking some more awesome pictures to download for your viewing pleasure...HEE HEE.

Well...its Friday....TGIF. Savannah will be coming home from camping with the teens all week. Can't wait to see her. I'm sure she will have some exciting stories to tell.

My friends the Milottes are home from California...it was good to see them. We had been keeping their dog Candy while they were away. It was actually supposed to be Savannah's job but of course Derrick and I took over in her absence!! LOL She'll have to divy up her earnings.

My softball team plays the final round tonight...We're all excited. Hoping Savannah will be home in time to play also. If we win then its final ....should we lose then we play a double header for the Championship. We've played this team night before last and won so hopefully God will give hte victory again tonight. We're playing at Byrd Field 6 if anyone would like to come cheer us on.

Well gotta get to work....I'll add some more pics and stuff later

Well my daughter's softball team, 14U Crenshaw Cardinals have won the second round of the play-offs while Savannah is camping with the teens form church. Hopefully she'll be home Friday to get to play int he final round. I've got some great pics to download...I'll figure all that out soon enough.
